best $3 investment ever...
I know I have already made one post today, but I was just thinking about some things. I saw a picture of my dog in my files...the one on my blog with her and her bug.
I don't know what do you think...does she love her bug?
Who would have ever thought that that $3 dollar clearance toy from target would be such a great investment. Daisy absolutely LOVES that ugly bug. It has rope antennae, rope arms that reach to its knees, rope legs that are so long, and these huge eyes that stick up off its head. It really is pretty ugly, but for some reason Daisy loves it. It doesn't even squeak (which is probably a good thing).
I get ready in my bathroom in the mornings, and for those of you that have never seen my bathroom, it is quite large--I have a shower, garden tub, two (yes my friends two) closets, and a large double sink area. So in the mornings, I shower and then sit at the sinks and get ready to face the day...I have a small stool that I sit on so I don't have to stand the whole time, that is rather nice. Usually about 3 times a week, Daisy will come walking in with that bug hanging out of her mouth, looking so pitiful that I just have to pick it up and throw it. Now keep in mind I am in my bathroom, so there are very few options for me to throw it, so I throw it out into the bedroom and usually hit the bed, but she loves it. I really think that bug has to be one of the best $3 investments that I have ever made.
What is a good investment that you have made? Please share I would love to hear...
BTW Debra, I had totally forgotten about the notorious B.U.G incident...but when i read your comment, I laughed out loud...good times!!!
skirts...
So for those of you that actually know me, you know that is a rare occasion (and when I say rare occasion, I mean pigs might fly before you see it again) that I actually wear a skirt/dress. I actually own 2 dresses, and maybe about 10 skirts, but just NEVER wear them. I decided today that I wanted to wear a skirt to work. Just because I didn't want to iron anything, but I wanted to wear sandels in order to show off my freshly pedicured feet. Now granted, the skirt is not short, it is barely showing ankle and I wore a white shirt and denim jacket with it. Very casual, but still decent. Before 8:00 am, teachers were coming down the hall just to ask me about my wardrobe choice for the day. They were all convinced that I had a date after school and that is why I "dressed" up. Quite honestly if that is the case, I don't even know about it. So for those of you that may have seen my wardrobe choice for the day...congrats, it won't happen again for a long while. For those of you that didn't, no there aren't pictures, that I know of, and just keep waiting, you never know when I may be in the no iron, show off my toes mood again.

my life...
Alright, I thought today instead of my rambling I would post a few pictures (this is for you Angie)!. My niece had her 2nd birthday on Sunday, so that was a great time had by all. It was for sure more fun than the first birthday! But before the pictures, I have to share this...I was at my sisters house on Saturday and was watching the Rangers (lose again!!!) and something happened on the game and I shouted "ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!?!" and almost immediately after I shouted this I hear my niece say "are you kiddin me?" it was so cute...
So now on to the pictures...the part some of you are just going to go straight to anyway...

My niece running around in the backyard...in her dress none the less.

This is my niece after she opened her new pair of shoes from her other aunt. She just had to try them on...I don't know where she gets her love for shoes ;)
This one is one of my favorites...it was a picture frame I got her with a picture of her and a little boy at her school that she just adores...check out that smile. Her mom and dad are going to have their hands full in a couple of years!!!
This is all the grandkids on my dad's side of the family...all girls! Me, my cousin Mallory, my niece, and my sister Kristen...
ok...I know this is not any kind of human...it is my dog daisy. Last night I was watching Beauty and the Geek earlier in the evening, and when I went into my room to go to bed, daisy was laying on her bed with her bug next to her...it was just too cute, I had to take a picture and share with you all...

P.S.---Brooke is going home on American Idol tonight...

the office
So I just watched the office from Thursday night...can I just say that I didn't see that coming. Jim is totally going to propose to Pam!!! He has a ring already (that he bought a week after they started dating). I must admit that I am a little (ok alot) jealous of Pam...Jim (John Krazinski) is just precious. If you didn't see it on Thursday, please watch it online...it really is a very funny one. I am just so sad that I had to wait this long to watch it because of the stupid weather that we had on Thursday and the stations contant need to talk about the same thing over, and over, and over, and over again...
I am in Abilene this weekend, and I know why I don't have kids. My neice has been at my parents from about 8:00 Friday night and as I type this is still here. This morning was quite interesting. Daisy (my dog) was in the house this morning and for some reason kept throwing up. In cleaning this up I myself almost had to go throw up as well. Then my neice had Jello...some way, some how the Jello ended up EVERYWHERE!!! When I say everywhere I am not trying to stretch the truth. Seriously there was even Jello on Daisy!!!!! And all of this was before 10:00...we went to lunch at CiCi's because Aileigh kept saying "I want pizza"...so we said alright. At one point during lunch, we had brocolli pieces all over the table and us, we had cinammon roll flying across the table, and sprite flying out of Aileigh's mouth. Needless to say it was quite entertaining.

WARNING!!!!
**** if you have not already watched the american idol results show from yesterday...stop reading now.
Couple things about American Idol last night...
1. I really don't know what the producers and all those other folks were trying to do with the three people on this side and three people on that side...ok now switch. That was just stupid. I must admit however that if David Cook had been in the bottom three I would have had to give some serious consideration to boycotting the rest of the season. However if Christy Lee Cook would have stayed in a week longer I would have also had to give some serious thought to boycotting...she was terrible and the only reason she stayed in as long as she did was because she was good looking. I have proof of this...a guy friend of mine said that he is only rooting for Christy and Brooke because they are good looking. However, I must admit that David Cook is my pick for winner of season 7, and that does not entirely lie on the fact that he does have talent.
2. Also, I am kinda over the whole call in and ask questions thing...only because people never ask the contestants questions. They always ask the judges questions, and I personally don't care about the judges. Paula---seriously, the flower--it has to go!!! The only good thing about last night's questions was that we did find out that David Cook is single. :)
Now, on to the Rangers...
three words guys...GET IT TOGETHER!!!!! 6-9, we can do much better than that...and come on does it seriously take us 14 innings to win a baseball game. I don't know if you got the memo, but a standard baseball game is 9 innings...I was dreaming by the time the game was over last night. Good thing I get text messages telling me the updates on the games, otherwise I would have had to wait for my kids to tell me.

thoughts in my brain...
This could be dangerous, but I have several things to comment on today...
1. This weekend I was probably home for a total of about 7 hours (these are awake hours--because you know i have to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night)...but yet some how some way my house still managed to get cluttered. I don't know how this happens, it just does.
2. I spent Friday night with some friends from high school, yes high school. It was really great to see them again. I for some unknown reason had not seen them in about 2 years, and the really amazing part of this is that they live only about 45 minutes away. CRAZY!!! We really need to make sure it is not 2 years before the next time I see them.
3. Anna...could I get directions to Del Taco, TX? I heard that you just realized there was a place called that. Or was that Delta Co?
4. I realized this weekend that no matter how much you have going on, it is always a good thing to find time to spend with God. It is also so good just to worship Him and to consider all that He has done and realize that He truly has so much in store for us, we just have to wait...(which if you know me at all this is the hard part)
5. Jana this is for you...my predicition for the top 3 on idol...I really feel that it will be David Cook, David Archuleta (or however you spell his last name), and **drum roll please** (with my teeth clenched tight I say this) Brooke White.
6. I LOVE THE OFFICE!!! If you have never seen this great show, I would HIGHLY recommend catching at least 3 episodes. I say three because it is a little like the movie "Napolean Dynamite"...you watch it the first time in just complete amazement that someone would actually make something like this, then you watch it again and you are past the amazement so you kinda think it is funny, then by the third time, you just love it and can't get enough of it.
7. This is the last one for today...the movie Horton hears a who is great. I would highly recommend it to everyone...not just those with small children. It is just really great!!!!
8. Last random thought, I promise. Why is it that people think that just because you went to school some where or lived in a certain town that you should know everyone there. One of my students asked me if I knew someone that went to ACU...I have no idea who the person is, but apparently they know me. It's really strange. I guess with a name like Randa, there is not much mistaking if you know me or not.
